EWWWWWW!! What are you doing, picking up trannys and letting them ride with you? :dita:

Other then limited to 65mph, what other symptoms are you having? Does the trans shift through all the gears, what rpm are you running, ect? Have you shifted manually when taking off, and when was the last time the trans was serviced?

lmfao!:dita: and it shifts through all the gears fine but it kicks down a gear if i try going past like 2200rpm. it drops to a lower gear and that gear wont let me go any faster. if i baby the trottle a little i can get it close to 68mph but it wont stay in that last gear with any tourqe behind it

i just did mine, ill tell you have to do it, as a side note, its not a kickdown cable, its a "TV cable" tuning it as if it is a "kickdown" cable will cause damage to your transmission im sure you know that, and i didnt know that before last night, but i just dont want anybody tearing up their tranny, after i did mine last night the blazer hauls so much more ass, i still cant get it to kick down, well at least noticeably. good luck bro :cheers2:

on a side note, i cant get mine to kick down, but my shifts are good, does anybody know what i can do? my TV is adjusted as tight as i can get it, but it still does not seem tight enough, i think when changing the 305 to the 350, and changing the Q-jet to a Holley 600 and adding a spacer thats over an inch thick, i think i changed the geometry. should i get (if they make them ) some kind of bracket to move the cable back, in turn tightening it?

to adjust the cable on a 700r4 you push the button were it goes through the bracket and open the carb to full throttle with the motor off .. its easy but it has nothing to do with the trans downshifting,,, the pressure in the trans does that hope this helps

that is how you adjust it, but im pretty sure it has something to do with the transmission pressure, so therefore i think it has something to do with downshifting.

you could be right but im just going by what i have inferred.

Chances are Chris you need holley part #s 20-95, 20-121, and 20-40 (to correct the TV geometry) if you have a holley 600 that is a 4150 or 4160 and a 700r4

Careful messin with the TV cables I ripped a tranny apart in 30 days from "adjusting it to shift later" and the TV is connected to a plunger in the trans so when the cable is pulled it allows more fluid into the vavlebody to down shift. If you adjust it wrong the clutches don't get full hydraulic pressure and therfore slip causing premature and fatal. This is what is what I took away from the article I read. I'll try to find the link as it was hugely helpful but then again this was almost ten years ago so who knows if it's still up. 81 cj is right about the "setting" of a TV cable. Anyone with a chevy should really check out coloradk5 there's loads of info on that site. Also pirate 4x4 has another great forumn.
