Aluminum heads don't matter. They have better cooling characteristics, lighter, cheaper to produce.

I have told many people this tho, 2008 was the last year to buy a new diesel until at least 2015, all this gov't mandated emissions controls are going to be having HUGE problems for the first few years they are out.

Greenies want the air coming out cleaner than going in!

I've heard that Aluminum doesn't matter, and honestly I don't know enough to come to the conclusion I did, but with as much compression that goes on, its just hard for me to believe that its strong enough for longevity.

12 valve cummins was the last real diesel IMHO. The later motors work, and most work well. But you can't beat the simplicity and bulletproofness of a 12v cummins. Plus the motor is good for 500,000 miles with no computer wires to come loose and make your motor stop running :thumbsup: .

Both had small V6 diesel's in the works, both suspended the program, all comes down to the emissions standards!!

There are way more diesel powered vehicles in other countries due to emissions!

speaking of other countires out here in afghanistan they are giving the ANA (Aghan National Army) crew cab short bed ford rangers with 4 cylinder turbo diesels! they are dime a dozen over here as well as diesel toyotas! wish we could have some in the states!

the new GMC sierra is suppose to produce more torque then the F-150, F-250, F350, and even the F-550. i believe its a 6.6L duramax.
